Jenewein Chess Match

Holding company JENEWEIN GROUP as the holder of innovative and pioneering ideas in Slovakia supports the game of kings. Chess was chosen to be the pillar of corporate identity and a philosophy of chess as a strategy for the development of consulting companies in its portfolio (AMROP HEVER, FIPRA, AJG Consulting and EPPP). For this reason, it became a general partner and co-organizer of Slovak and Czech top managers´ chess team meeting. Under the title Jenewein Chess Match wants the company each year broker a beauty and elegance of the chess game to the wide public. The first of a series of traditional events took place on October 10 and 11, 2008 in Bratislava Art Hotel William and Central Passage. This social prestigious event has been of a really high quality, as JENEWEIN GROUP invited to Slovakia apart from excellent teams also the legend of chess heaven – the twelfth world champion and Russian grandmaster Anatolij Karpov, who awarded a challenge trophy to the winning Slovak team, and played in front of more than two hundred invited guests exhibition match with the Slovak grandmaster Sergej Movsesjan.

JENEWEIN CHESS MATCH 2009

Third year of international chess event of Czech and Slovak managers which, thanks to general partnership of JENEWEIN GROUP known as JENEWEIN Chess Match, took place in Bratislava’s Art Hotel William on November 6th and 7th, 2009. Top managers from Czech Republic were led by grand master Vlastimil Babula – long-time member of the Czech representation. Slovak team leader was, again, the best Slovak player, grand master Sergej Movsesjan. Slovak managers were more lucky to be allied with the chess goddess Caissa during past years, they won in 2007 both rounds (10:5 and 11:4) and the first round in 2008 (6:14 and 12:8). This year’s match had 4 rounds and its form was adumbrated by Friday night when Czech and Slovak managers played against both grand masters Sergej Movsesjan and Vlastimil Babula. The play lasted for 5.5 hours and the grandmasters won 18 games, tied 3 and lost only one. The main game in so-called rapid chess was won by Czech representatives 3 to 1 (39.5 to 28.5 in match-ups) which tied the overall score at 4. The grandmaster’s duel was won by Slovak master – Sergej Movsesjan defeated Vlastimil Babula 3 to 1.
