Slovak Business Agency/National Business Centre

The generation of entrepreneurs who founded companies in the nineties of the 20th century is gradually passing them on to their descendants and is currently facing challenges that will determine the future of their companies. According to the European Commission, family businesses make up more than 60% of the total number of companies in Europe. Despite the fact that they account for a significant share of Member States' GDP and employ a large part of the population, the attention paid to their unique problems is slowly fading. Succession planning, i.e. the gradual transfer of the family business to the next generation, is one of these specific topics. Therefore, Slovak Business Agency decided to issue the publication Succession in Family Businesses – How to Get Started, whose goal is to share experience and practical advice and help family businesses to avoid useless mistakes. The guarantor and author of one of the chapters (How professional help from outside can help a family business) is Martin Krekáč, founding partner and chairman of the Jenewein Group. The publication was published in April 2022 in printed and electronic form and we will pass it to dozens of family businesses from the ranks of our clients through the advisory platform Jenewein private.
