The discussion seminar
Stop denial women rights! took place on March 5, 2010 in the European Information Centre in Bratislava as a first out of eighteen events organized on the bases of common project of European Parliament Information Office in SR and JENEWEIN GROUP. Its aim was to evolve the professional discussion focused on current topics: the poverty threat, violence, trade with women etc. The seminar, where members of European Parliament Edit Bauer and Anna Záborská and representatives of the third sector Irena Belohorská, Mária Demeterová and Jana Šípošová appeared was attended by 45 participants and was moderated and professionally led by Mária Nádaždyová, senior program manager of think-tank EPPP.

Olympic Games of human rights >>>
The national round of
12th year of Olympic Games of human rights took place in Liptovský Ján on March 9 and 11, 2010. The main topic was a Multicultural education, however the main task of the games is the development of legal awareness of human rights in all youth communities, humanity, philanthropy, global altruism and the idea if human dignity spreading, education and encouraging of young people in attempt to discover and respect the cultural diversity. The Olympic Games of human rights as a part of the project Life without prejudices is yearly raised by Ministry of Education of Slovak Republic. One of the partners of the games is European Parliament Information Office in SR that led the workshop focused on presentation of European Parliament activities and was the guarantor of essay competition In EU is 19 million of children endangered by poverty in the year of fight against the poverty and social exclusion.

The task of European Parliament in various domains of economic policy >>>
With the aim to discover the answers to questions concerning legislative proceedings against the crisis on both the national and European level, the EDF – European democracy forum organised professional seminar for the students of faculties of economy at universities of Bratislava on March 18, 2010. As one of the main issues were the activities of European Parliament in this area, the partner of the seminar became the European Parliament Information Office in SR. Besides the main guests (Member of European Parliament Sergej Kozlík and Member of Parliament of SR Ivan Štefanec), the director of European Parliament Information Office in SR Robert Hajšel and representatives of JENEWEIN GROUP participated on the seminar also 25 students, representatives of several students´ organizations and media.

As a first out of four events for regional journalists organised the European Parliament Information Office in SR professional seminar on March 19, 2010 in Bratislava. The main topics were European Parliament in the context of Lisbon treaty, Activities of European Parliament Information Office in SR, Legislative priorities of European Parliament in 2010, Lisbon treaty and its impact on operation of European Union, Decisions influence on European level or Media and journalists as a basis of democratic system in Europe. Besides the main guests (Edit Bauer, Radovan Geist and Július Lörinz) and representatives of European Parliament Information Office in SR (Robert Hajšel and Ivana Janíková Stavrovská) and JENEWEIN GROUP company participated on the seminar also 28 journalists, representatives of SSN, non-governmental organizations (think-tank EPPP etc.) and students.

European Parliament in the context of Lisbon treaty – Košice >>>
European Parliament Information Office in SR in cooperation with JENEWEIN GROUP organized soon after the first professional seminar for regional journalists in Bratislava a similar meeting in Košice. In Pension Hradbová on April 9, 2010 met nearly twenty journalists and representatives of regional media to listen to presentations concerning European Parliament, its activities, and operation and current issues. On the seminar appeared: Monika Smolková, Zita Pleštinská, Robert Hajšel, Radovan Geist and Karel Ilja Dvořák.

Threat of seniors by penury and social exclusion >>>
Under the terms of struggling against penury and social exclusion, European Parliament Information Office in SR together with the Representatives of the European Commission in the Slovak Republic, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Christian Seniors Association of Slovakia and with JENEWEIN GROUP, has organized the seminar Threat of seniors by penury and social exclusion, which was freely followed by the memorial program of Anton Neuwirth, “messenger of co-existence in Europe”. This event took place on April 17, 2010 in Bojnice in attendance of Anna Záborská, member of European Parliament, Jozef Mikloško, president of the Christian Seniors Association of Slovakia, Ján Benček, honorary president of the Christian Seniors Associations of Slovakia and Robert Hajšel, director of the European Parliament Information Office in SR.

Seminar for regional journalists in Brussels >>>
The seminar for regional journalists in Brussels has been organized by the European Parliament Information Office in SR together with JENEWEIN GROUP for the representatives of Slovak media with main focus on European affairs and its policy. This was a three-day seminar with preplanned expert program. Its aim was not only to inform about the actual subjects within the European Parliament, but also to present Brussels as the capital of the European Union and clarify upon detailed processes in the heart of EU the functioning of European institutions – European Parliament, European Commission and Council after acceptance of the Lisbon treaty. Journalists met Maroš Šefčovič, the vice president of the European Commission, Ivan Korčok, deputy of the SR in the EU, Slovak representatives in European Parliament and many other specialists. A part of the programme was the visit of the European Economic and Social Committee, where its members – advisers Martin Krekáč, chairman of JENEWEIN GROUP and Patrik Zoltvány, senior partner FIPRA Slovakia held a discussion with the journalists. The final part of the programme was a meeting held in consulting group FIPRA – Finsbury International Policy & Regulatory Advisers with the director of its European office Sebastian Vos.
