JENEWEIN GALLERY: Czech-Slovak painting I Ivan Štora

18.9.2023

A story about two university students who went to Vienna after the Velvet Revolution and rang the doorbell of Dr. Jean-François Jenewein is relatively well-known, at least in our industry. This step was essential for the establishment of the Czechoslovak consulting company Management Consulting Jenewein with offices in Prague and Bratislava (CZ I SK). One of the students was Martin Krekáč who gratefully and humbly appreciates that he was granted space and trust from J.-F. Jenewein, which he used to build a renowned company and strengthen the Jenewein name in the Czech Republic and Slovakia to the extent that Jenewein is perceived not only as an international but also as a Czech-Slovak brand. For this reason, it is clear why Prague and Bratislava appear in different forms in our corporate identity. We like to keep coming back to the image connecting Prague Castle with Bratislava Castle. And it decorates our meeting room in the variant also featuring Brussels and London. Its author is the graphic artist Ivan Štora with whom we have been working for almost a quarter of a century. It is also interesting that Ivan was seconded by his talented daughter while hand-drawing the surroundings of all motives.

JENEWEIN GALLERY: Jenewein Chess Match I Daniel Brunovský

11.9.2023

In 2008, we became the general partner of a prestigious sports and social event - a competitive meeting of chess teams of Slovak and Czech top managers Jenewein Chess Match (SK I CZ). As a carrier of innovative and pioneering ideas, the Jenewein Group decided to promote chess as the game of kings. We chose chess as such and the chess philosophy long ago as one of the basic pillars and central motifs of the corporate identity. The beauty and elegance of the chess game was also perfectly described by the glass sculpture, the author of which is jeweler, monumentalist, illustrator, ceramicist, sculptor and academic painter Daniel Brunovský. However, another important personality is associated with the event – in addition to the top management teams, we invited a legend to Bratislava – the twelfth world champion in chess history and Russian Grandmaster GM Anatoli Karpov. The climax of the event were two exhibition games of blitz chess, which he played with the Slovak grandmaster Sergej Movsesyan.

JENEWEIN GALLERY: Heads and faces I Svetozár Ilavský

4.9.2023

Connecting the world of creators and users of art has been typical for the Jenewein Group since its foundation in 1990. We celebrated several historical milestones and important events by collaborating with the academic painter and sculptor Svetozár Ilavský. His limited series of colored wood sculptures from 1997 and 1998, graphics Head I. and II. from 2001 (JG's 11th anniversary) or Victory Ride from 2005 (JG's 15th anniversary) decorate the work or private spaces of many of our partners and clients. A common motive – a person in various artistic representations as an original and unique creator of thoughts, ideas and innovations is the main commodity in our consulting business. Svetozár Ilavský who, in addition to painting, drawing, graphics and sculpture, also works in architecture, scenography and intermedial projects, especially in connection with electro-acoustic music, is also the author of the sculpture Golfista. In 2008, this steel-polystyrene work was the symbol and mascot of the Jenewein Golf Classic, a nationwide competition for company teams. At that time, it bore the name of Jean-François Jenewein, the creator and founder of the Jenewein brand who was not only a successful businessman but also an avid golfer. Currently, the statue is part of the art collection Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum in Bratislava.

JENEWEIN GALLERY: Heart for V. Havel I Bořek Šípek

28.8.2023

In 2019, the Jenewein Group office in Prague (CZ) moved to Voršilská Street. As we wrote on this occasion, our history "combines a sense of tradition with enthusiasm for the latest innovations". This gave rise to great joy and at the same time respect for our new place of work. The baroque Deym's Palace (or also the house of Čabelický from Soutice or the Schwarzenberg Palace) is not only a cultural monument, but above all a place where history was written and original ideas were born. After leaving the Prague Castle, our first post-revolutionary Czechoslovak president Václav Havel worked in these premises where we arrived. And it was he who left in them not only a legacy of immense hard work and humanity but also several artistic artifacts. The walls were decorated with colorful paintings by Aleš Lamr, the interior was furnished by the famous architect and designer Bořek Šípek, a personal friend of Havel. Because he liked to work with glass, the office was decorated with a glass bookcase. And a red heart – the symbol of President Václav Havel – greeted the guests on a pillar at the entrance.

JENEWEIN GALLERY: 100 People and Their Places I Alan Hyža

21.8.2023

We understand the talent, uniqueness and strength of personalities. That is also why in 2015, which was the year of our 25th anniversary celebrations, we rewarded ourselves by collaborating with the leading photographer Alan Hyža. We supported the publication of his book 100 People and Their Places. It is a collection of portraits of hundreds of important representatives of Slovak culture and their favorite places in Slovakia. With joy and gratitude, we dedicated it as a Christmas gift not only to hundreds of readers, but also to ourselves and our partners. As Alan Hyža said, those people who did something got into the selection. They left a significant mark, they have a deep spiritual and human dimension and have not adopted the basic attributes of the present – kitsch, superficiality and sensationalism. Many of them are almost unknown and many are no longer with us, but their contribution to the present and the legacy for the future is enormous. The book is a rare document capturing personalities with a significant influence on contemporary society and the shape of the Slovak landscape. Although since then the publications Memoria – Vanishing Slovakia, SPIŠ – Shadows & Echoes and the most recent The Land That Remains, have been added to the portfolio of the award-winning photographer at home and around the world, the book 100 People and Their Places has a special place in our gallery.

Marika Gombitová became the first musical princess

21.8.2023

Spa Brusno regularly hosts one and only event of its kind in Slovakia. During previous years, the Jozef Bednárik Music Festival has built up the reputation of a musical festival during which lovers of musical melodies from all over the country and abroad gather. During the 16th edition, on August 18 and 19, 2023, several respected personalities met in one place, giving the event the stamp of the highest exclusivity. Artists such as Daniel Hůlka, Leona Machálková, Mirka Partlová, Ján Gallovič, Sisa Sklovská, Jana Hubinská, Andrea Zimányiová, Michaela Nosková, Ján Greššo, Štefan Skrúcaný, Felix Slováček, Nikol Ďuricová, Marián Labuda Jr., Dárius Koči, Tereza Králiková, Kristína Vrecková, Peter Paleček, accompanying music by Július Selčan, Petr Jančařík and others performed in the festive program as a memorial to the life and work of Jozef Bednárik who died 10 years ago. The unique atmosphere on the Terrace of Musical Glory culminated with the arrival of Marika Gombitová, who, as a surprise of the evening, took home the prestigious award of the First Czechoslovak Musical Princess. The prize itself consists of a coin from the Česká mincovna (Czech Mint) with an engraved likeness of Marika in the role of Katka in the cult musical Don't Take the Princess from Us (Neberte nám princeznú). Marika Gombitová was warmly received by enthusiastic crowds of fans and besieged by the media; the atmosphere of the evening was really spectacular. Connections with the world of music and art have been part of our brand for a long time, so we are once again grateful that we could be there. This is also Jenewein.

JENEWEIN GALLERY: Seven originals I Rudolf Hausleitner

14.8.2023

This series is the basic motive of our corporate identity. We used it for the first time in 2008 when reorganizing the consulting group. Since then, these seven original works have been part of our Corporate Identity and other elements of external communication, including the website and presentation on social networks. It also played a key role in 2022 in the fundamental change in the communication setup of the Jenewein Group brand as a Czech-Slovak and family consulting brand (SK I CZ I AT). The author of the drawings is Rudolf Hausleitner – one of the most talented graphic designers. In his studio Ante Meridiem, where our other colleague Milan Šemelák also worked, he created identities and visuals for a number of Slovak and foreign brands. He was characterized by uncompromising and honest attitude, which is rarely seen in the marketing world. He was a person who lived and worked to the fullest, always went to the maximum and never abandoned what he believed in. We are grateful for this collaboration, which permanently determined the character of our manuscript. All the more so because the work of Rudolf Hausleitner came to an end in the spring of 2012, when he died at the age of 28.

JENEWEIN GALLERY: Caricatures I Management Consulting Jenewein

7.8.2023

In terms of time, these are probably the oldest drawings from our Jenewein gallery. They were created for the Austrian company Management Consulting Jenewein, which was founded in 1977 by Jean-François Jenewein together with his wife Rita, with offices in many countries in Europe and the world. After the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1989, Austria played an influential role in the development of management and personnel consulting. Jenewein was one of the first to enter the markets of Central and Eastern European countries. Establishing of the Czechoslovak company Management Consulting Jenewein with offices in Prague and Bratislava (CZ I SK) is important from the point of view of our story. Thus, in 1990, we became pioneers in the field of management and personnel consulting in the former Czechoslovakia, not only through the mediation of know-how and proven practices, but also thanks to seemingly small things to which these drawings also belong. They illustrated our first company presentations and interviews in the media, which contributed to the development of Executive Search in Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

JENEWEIN GALLERY: Q. Matsys, P. Gauguin, J. Vermeer I Wiktor Leo Burnett

31.7.2023

One of Jenewein's creative headhunting series in the new millennium brings a piece of our history from the turn of 2003 and 2004 together with another big brand – advertising agency Wiktor Leo Burnett. Although it has officially been on the market since 1992, in reality "it all started on January 16, 1986 at 9:30 p.m., when a human energy named Wiktor was born". The three founders then said to themselves that "whatever we do, we will do it much better than others". They fulfilled this commitment, Wiktor Leo Burnett is one of the most successful advertising agencies on the Slovak market, with more than ten Agency of the Year awards and perhaps hundreds of placements in various competitions at home and around the world. Their creativity in the case of this partnership humorously underlined the need for professionalization of the Executive Search business in our country – without headhunters, the famous paintings by Quentin Matsys (The Banker and his Wife), Paul Gauguin (The Cellist) and Johannes Vermeer (The Geographer) would look a little differently. You're missing someone important in them, aren't you? By the way, Wiktor Leo Burnett is inter alia the creative author of Jenewein's message The end of personal advertising, for which we jointly won the prize of monthly magazine Strategies in 2001.

Filip Krekáč taking part in peer consulting training at the Calma mental health clinic

13.7.2023

Until November 2023, Filip Krekáč is taking part in the traineeship at the Calma mental health clinic. After successfully passing the selection process, he will complete several months of accredited peer consulting training as one of two trainees from the Bratislava Self-governing Region (16 trainees participate in the internship within Slovakia). In addition, in July he completed the Basic course for peer consultants in mental health care, obtaining a certificate issued by the Centre for mental health care development, z. s., with seat in Prague. The peer consultants are trained people with personal experience with mental illness. Based on what they have experienced or are experiencing, relying on the principles of managing their own stabilization, they cooperate with professional providers of mental health services and their users, i.e. people with mental illness, to achieve a result in the form of recovery. The interest in expanding this knowledge and skills set also arose from previous cooperation with the League for Mental Health of the Slovak Republic, where Filip Krekáč was actively involved in a project aimed at innovating the functionality and availability of the system of prevention and care for mental health in Slovakia.
